Gallery Portal 11 presents the exhibition of graphic works and sculptures by two artists, Yelyzaveta Bondarenko and Oleksandr Prytula “Common Language”. 08.05 – 07.06.2026.
Oleksandr Prytula (b. 1994, Kyiv) is an artist and a graduate of NAFAA (2018).
Yelyzaveta Bondarenko (b. 1995, Simferopol) is an artist and a graduate of NAFAA (2025).
The artists explore the concept of conversation as a complex and multi-layered process. Through graphic works, they reveal the multifaceted nature of human interaction. The authors translate their dialogue onto the canvas, reminding the viewer that multiple perspectives exist. To reach a shared goal, it is essential to establish connection, express one’s viewpoint without fear, allow space for others to express themselves, and practice sincerity and understanding.
The project addresses the issue of mutual understanding and the complexity of this process. Society exists in a state of constant tension, and interaction with others often turns into disagreement and the defense of one’s own position.
We tend to perceive dialogue as a battle with a winner and a loser. A more mature and constructive approach to interaction is based on sincerity, respect, and openness. Balance and harmony are not given — they are created, like a work of art. The use of contemporary technologies, including 3D printing and UV printing, further emphasizes the relevance of the theme.
“A common language is something we, like every person in the world, want to achieve. We approached the creation of the artworks, understanding the complexity of this concept (and the action as such). The interlocutors look at the same things from different angles – this is natural.
And you need to make an effort to understand the other’s point of view. Sometimes it is impossible – therefore, this is a job for two. If for each person in the dialogue the most important thing is to understand, but not to prove their rightness – the world becomes a little better and more developed. Conversation and finding a common language is a long process that requires effort and practice. And this practice we, as artists, have just carried out”, – Yelyzaveta Bondarenko
“Even when people speak the same language, they do not always find harmony. Dialogue is a constant work of our consciousness in search of understanding and gaining experience. And experience, in turn, is not imprinted forever, it must always be reminded (to oneself or others) and the work must be carried out again and again. Every time a conversation begins, when one of the interlocutors expresses an opinion: desires, anxieties, passions, fears, etc. Depending on my type and what I want from life, I either deny or agree with what I’ve heard. After all, in the dialogue itself I learn who I really am”, – Oleksandr Prytula
“We visualize the concept of “conversation” as such and want to demonstrate to the viewer the multifaceted, multicomponent nature of this interaction. In the presented exhibition you can see arguments, quarrels, heart-to-heart talks, and monologues. All in order to sincerely get closer to each other, open your heart to another, find a common language and become those who move towards a better future together”, – Yelyzaveta Bondarenko
“This project is a visualization of the interaction of two souls who crossed paths in life and have now joined efforts. But these two lines never run perfectly parallel: they dance and vibrate, cross each other, catch up and even, sometimes, knock off their flight path. But when these “knock-offs” occur, they adjust their energy so as not to lose their common course. They enter the process of adjusting their vibrations so that the flight is comfortable for both. But in life, there are not two, there are thousands of lines”, – Oleksandr Prytula.
