Portal 11 Gallery presents an exhibition of works from its collection

From 26.06.2026. The Portal 11 Gallery Collection is a living organism that captures history in the very moment of its making and reveals the hidden connections between different eras. This exhibition presents a major selection from our holdings, assembled around the gallery’s core philosophy: to preserve and exhibit artworks that already possess outstanding artistic value or are destined to become classics over time.
The exhibition spans more than a century of artistic exploration. It challenges conventional linear chronology in order to demonstrate the project’s central idea — the continuity and inheritance of traditions within Ukrainian culture. Ukrainian art has never existed in isolation from global artistic developments. Instead, it has always possessed a unique internal “portal” through which pure emotion and the mythological codes of folk art have evolved into the complex philosophical concepts of contemporary artistic practice. The gallery space on Triokhsviatytelska Street has been transformed into a platform for a vibrant dialogue between generations, styles, and worldviews. This tradition begins with the geometric thinking of Kyiv-born Kazimir Malevich, the fantastical imagery of Maria Prymachenko, and the monumental-decorative explorations of Serhii Kolos. The torch of intellectual inquiry is then carried forward by the Sixtiers generation and masters of graphic art. The intricate, sacred universes of Anatolii Bedzir and the meditative labyrinths of Oleksandr Aksinin present art as a profound form of inner reflection and resistance to time itself.
The living classics of our era are represented by Ivan Marchuk’s iconic “pliontanism,” the monochromatic spatial investigations of Tiberiy Silvashi, the refined expressive geometry of Ivan Turetskyy, and the painterly magic of Volodymyr Radko and Mariia Levytska. The masterful graphic works of Pavlo Makov and the utopian visions of Fripulya (Fedir Tetyanych) encounter the perspectives of a younger generation of artists, including Viacheslav Prytula, demonstrating that the artistic code continues to evolve without interruption.
Experience the powerful synergy of the names that form the pride of our collection and discover your own key to understanding the national artistic code.
