Personal exhibition by Volodymyr Oleshchuk "Microcosm-Macrocosm"

Portal 11 Gallery presents the personal exhibition of the artist Volodymyr Oleshchuk "Microcosm- Macrocosm". 15.07.23 – 06.08.23. Volodymyr's bright abstractions are a self-reflection through which he studies the environment, the so-called Macrocosm. The author transforms the environment into his own individual world by perceiving the environment. The impressions that reality leaves are poured onto the canvas in a unique manner and mood. Color remains the most important tool for Volodymyr. The purpose of this artistic act is not to surprise with excessive originality, but to reflect the mental state of the artist and his inner world. It's more of a game with no end in sight, like a never-ending journey.
The exposition includes selected works from several series by Volodymyr Oleshchuk. "The «Decoding» series is a demonstration, recording of the process of creating "drawn poetry". Gradual layering of the painting and transfer to the plane, as a result of which a kind of kinetics and dynamics are born. Attempts to combine visual art and poetry have a long tradition. Mykhail Semenko is a Ukrainian futurist poet, the inventor of "painting poetry", he proposed a radically new way of writing and presenting poetry. His experience inspires me to experiment and search at the intersection of painting, text, music, singing… The «Still Life» series are imaginary still lifes in which imaginary objects interact with light, shadow and color.
The «MOOD» series are an experiments with paper, oil, acrylic, watercolor and oil pastel. The «Colors of the wind» series is mood painting, an attempt to convey the emotional state caused by the elements, relying on natural textures and color ratios. Accepting reality as a fact is one of the ways to experience or coexist with various phenomena – natural and social. For me, acceptance begins with the search for a certain "aesthetics". Storm, storm, fire, blizzard, avalanche, diving into the depths of the sea, or flight… acceptance of these
sometimes very dangerous phenomena comes through understanding their inevitability. Next comes the understanding of structure and aesthetics. A certain scenario of this phenomenon can be seen. And this, in turn, provokes a certain action, reaction or lack of it. It was at this stage of research that I created this series of paintings "Colors of the Wind". It is this way that helps me survive the pandemic and the war, because society and I have changed, we have accepted the present and developed a certain new culture of coexistence. This is not just a protective reaction, but a way to at least partially influence or regulate these processes … there will be a further … discussion," the artist writes.
