Portal 11 Gallery announces a competition for artists Portal 11 Art Prize 2021.
The theme of this year’s award is “What is Blue?”.
The competition is open to Ukrainian artists aged 20 to 40.
Prizes
1st place – The Main Prize is € 1,500. The winner’s work will be presented at the Luxembourg Art Fair 2022 and remains in the collection of the Portal 11 gallery.
The jury also awards two special prizes to support young talant.
2nd place – participation in the Luxembourg Art Fair 2022,
3rd place – free exhibition in the gallery Portal 11.
The works of all nominees will be published in the catalog of Portal 11 Art Prize 2021.
Mission
The award is designed to draw attention to the work of young artists, support their creative path and provide an opportunity to show themselves on the contemporary art scene.
The gallery is looking for talents to collaborate and create new projects.
Concept of the competition
Color is always a social phenomenon, because it is society that endows it with meanings, determines its tasks and mission. And if this color is blue? How and with what meanings will you fill it?
Choose your blue and show it to the world. There are no restrictions in technique and media.
The theme of this year’s award “What is Blue?” is just about color. Everything else is about you.
Calendar of the Portal 11 Art Prize 2021:
19.05.2021- 01.10.2021 – Applications accepted.
07.10.2021 – Announcement of nominees for the award and approval of their participation in the collective exhibition.
19. 11. 2021 – Opening of the nominees exhibition.
19. 11. 2021 – 12.12.2021 – Exhibition of award nominees.
12. 12. 2021 – Announcement of the winners of the main and special prizes.
Terms of participation:
1. Artists aged 20 to 40 can take part in the competition. One artist (group of artists) can submit no more than 3 works in the application for the competition, from which the jury selects 1 work for the award.
2. Series of works are not accepted for the competition.
3. Works in any technique, media and size are accepted.
4. Files with images of works are accepted in the format jpeg, tiff, pdf, the size of which should not exceed 10 MB.
5. Works that do not correspond to the theme of the competition are not accepted.
6. Works submitted for participation in the competition must be exhibited for the first time and during the competition must not be present at other marketplaces.
7. All works selected for the exhibition of nominees must be available for sale in the gallery.
8. The cost of submitting an application for participation is UAH 250. At the end of filling out the Google form you must attach proof of payment.

9. The artist is responsible for arrangement of transportation (in both directions) of the work to the exhibition.
Rules
Acceptance of applications
2.1. Candidates submit the application through the form on the website of the gallery Portal 11 www.portal11.com.ua from 19.05 to 01.10.
2.2. Additional information can be sent by separate letter to portal11groupexhibitions@gmail.com. Be sure to include “Portal 11 Art Prize 2021” in the subject of the letter.
2.3. The application is considered accepted if the participant receives a confirmation by e-mail within 3 days.
2.4. The participant must grant the organizers the right to use the images of the work of art submitted to the competition to create a catalog, archive images of the submitted works of art and publish on the gallery’s website or social networks.
Terms of announcement of nominees
3.1. The works of the nominees for Portal 11 Art Prize will be selected by the jury on the basis of the accepted applications of the candidates.
3.2. The list of nominees will be announced no later than October 7, 2021 on the website https://portal11.com.ua/, on social networks and by e-mail.
Exhibition of nominees
4.1. Nominees will take part in a collective exhibition in the gallery Portal 11 in the period from 19.11.2021 to 12.12.2021. The winners of the main and special prizes will be announced on the last day of the exhibition.
4.2. Nominees must submit their work for exhibition no later than October 17, 2021.
4.3. The work of the nominee cannot be replaced by another.
4.4. The selection of works for the group exhibition is carried out by the jury.
4.5. The jury reserves the right to refuse a participant if the work does not meet the description in the application and the terms of the competition.
Awarding a prize Portal 11 Art Prize
5.1. The main and special prizes of the Portal 11 Art Prize will be awarded on December 12, 2021.
5.2. The jury reserves the right not to explain its choice of award winners.
