A person has it’s inner and outer space, which directly affect us all. Each of us has a different ratio of these spaces and it depends on how a person reacts to different factors.
The situation that developed during the quarantine is unusual, because it equalized the spaces for all people. We all had to face the absence of the outside and be close in on our inner space. Our world froze and stopped inside the house. Thanks to this, we started to open our house from different angles, which we usually wouldn’t even thought about.
Porcelain figurines are a living material for the artist. It seems that you only change the scale and duplicate objects, but as a result, you open a new perception of these small fragile objects from the grandmother’s sideboard or flea markets. Because even these, almost imperceptible objects were mechanisms of propaganda and symbols of the Soviet era.
Life did not freeze in porcelain, as our emotions are alive too.
Our outdoor space has been simplified to a radius around our home and the homes of loved ones. We became more attentive to simple details. Therefore, the landscapes familiar to our eyes have become noticeable and interesting.
That is why it is very interesting to observe how people react to these “visual triggers”, because it is thanks to the reactions that so much can be said about their perception of the past and present.
