Gallery Portal 11 presents “Dedication” group exhibition. Participants: Oleksii Voziianov, Mariia Levytska, Vyacheslav Prytula, Mariia Skoblikova, Ivan Turetskyy. 14.09.2024-13.10.2024.

“Dedication” group exhibition

Contemporary Ukrainian artists have created a series of works dedicated to outstanding artists of different eras. Masters of the past eras shaped the history of world art through their works and ideas. Today’s artists capture current events, often engaging in dialogue with old masters, seeking experience and inspiration in ancient techniques, technologies, narrative works, and compositional solutions.

In the project “Dedication” participated Oleksii Voziianov, Mariia Levytska, Vyacheslav Prytula, Mariia Skoblikova and Ivan Turetskyy. They refer the viewer to the works of such outstanding artists as Alexander Archipenko, Umberto Boccioni, Francesco Guardi, Pablo Picasso, and Alberto Giacometti.

The aim of the exhibition is to draw attention to key moments in the history of art and individual artists who have managed to change perceptions of aesthetics, form, colour, as well as the content and role of art in human life.

Exhibition Structure:

“Breaking Patterns”:
From the Baroque era to Modernism: This section shows how changing living conditions and thinking altered approaches to depicting the world. From idealized images to realistic scenes – art began to reflect social and cultural changes. Dedication to Francesco Guardi.

“Rebellion and Experiment”:
This section includes artists of the early 20th century, particularly representatives of the avant-garde: Alexander Archipenko, Pablo Picasso, Umberto Boccioni, and Alberto Giacometti. Here, artists who took risks rejected traditional canons and created entirely new directions – from Cubism to Abstract Art.

The “Dedication” exhibition is not only a reminder of the immortal influence of these artists on the history of art but also an invitation to dialogue with their works and ideas. Visitors will have the opportunity to look at familiar images in a new way and understand how the past continues to shape our present and future.
