“The Portal to abstraction”
Abstractionism is one of the styles of avant-garde art of the early XX century. Abstraction is a conscious withdrawal from the real world.
The exhibition presents works of Ukrainian abstractionism from the collection of the Gallery Portal 11. We have selected artworks in various techniques by famous Ukrainian artists.
Mykhailo Urban and Liuboslav Hutsaliuk are Ukrainian artists who were active in America and became famous in the 50s and 70s. Ivan Turetskyy, Oleksii Koval and Nazar Bilyk are artists who have achieved success in modern Ukraine and abroad. Also, we present a new generation of artists with an installation by Orest Manetsky. In their artworks, they all appeal to abstractions, which are embodied in the techniques of enamel, painting, sculpture and new technologies in art.
