Gallery Portal 11 presents exhibition of sculptures by Egor Zigura “Undisturbed silence” 04.09.2019 – 17.09.2019.
Egor Zigura born in Dnipro (Ukraine) in 1984. Currently lives and works in Kyiv. The artist creates sculptures, art installations and art objects. His arsenal includes bronze, metal and polyester.
His works represented at international auctions Phillips, Sotheby’s. Egor Zigura participates in art fairs: Spectrum Miami, Kölner Liste, Tokyo International Art Fair, Volta Basel and more. Egor Zigura’s sculptures were acquired by numerous private and public collections in Ukraine, Denmark, France, Portugal, the UK, Singapore, the USA, Japan, China and Italy. His sculptures have been exhibited in many public spaces (Abramovych Sculpture Park, the Kyiv Polytechnic Institute and more).
Egor Zigura connects and intertwines future and present and strives for exploring cultural heritage as deeply as possible. Creator endowes his sculptures not only with classical forms, but also with concepts which are supposed to illustrate the problems of the modern society such as dentification in the multicultural world, consumerism etc. Its main idea lies in vulnerability of civilizations and the artist choses materialistic and spiritual losses of human beings to convey the message. The basis of the project is exemplary heritage of antiquity, in particular subjects of Greco-Roman mythology.Warning against these irreversible changes is an essential aspect of the exhibition.
The cognitive spectrum of the exposition also includes shots from #ArtistFromWithinWorkshop project created by Olena Saponova and videos created by Artur Garmash and Dmytro Vygovsky.
