Olena Shtepura was born in 1994 in Nizhyn, Ukraine.
2008 – 2012 – studied at Shevchenko State Art School in Kyiv, Ukraine.
2012 – 2016 – studied at the National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture (Kyiv, Ukraine), Faculty of Scenography.
2016 – 2018 – studied at the National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture, Faculty of Painting.
In the art project «Immersion» by Olena Shtepura the water is a transforming structure. Water is a mirror of reality, but it is while filtering it. Water reflects only sample fragments, forming a unique one pattern of being. The melody of the water is constantly different. It can be calm as glass or flicker, be noisily destructive or have a smooth even pattern. It combines two realities into absolutely perfect composition. In water body seems fragmented. Thus showing that you are a part of the world and the world is in you. Depicted female images give elegance and lyricism of the episodes.
What happens when we engage in a dialogue with water? What world do we belong to? Do we see ourselves real or weird watching the reflection in the water? Aren’t we afraid of ourselves who we see? Aren’t we afraid to take a step in ourselves?
