Gallery Portal 11 presents painting exhibition by Ivan Turetskyy “Peradventure calling”. 26.09.2020 – 18.10.2020.
The Exhibition “Peradventure calling” is related to the artist`s life philosophy. “Peradventure” for Ivan is a guide in the labyrinth of life, which encourages new self-discovery journeys. The artist in this labyrinth is a pilgrim who follows the inner voice of his soul: «We usually try to plan our lives ahead, meticulously calculating each step. Often, though, our predictions and plans require adjustments or complete change». Ivan Turetskyy suggests that it is easier to walk through the labyrinth if we follow our hearts. Reliant on past experience of joy and pain, our heart leads us along the path of least resistance and least errors.
The exhibition presents new works made by Ivan in 2020. This year was successful for the artist, his painting “Fragments II. From the series “Italian Diary” was sold at the Sotheby’s auction in New York in the category of world cubism, along with the works of Paul Cézanne, Pablo Picasso, Henre Lotte and Robert Mark.
Creative research inspired Ivan Turetskyy to experiment. For the first time, the exhibition will present work in the technique of stereo printing and handmade tapestry, which create unusual visual amplitudes, textual, light and color layers, which encourage a new look at his paintings and paintings in general.
Ivan Turetskyy is a famous Ukrainian artist, graphic artist, heraldist. He is co-author of a small National Emblem of Ukraine and author of the current National Emblem of Lviv.
Ivan Turetskyy is a true artist and a participant of numerous exhibitions in Ukraine and abroad. He regularly takes part in international art plein airs. His works are in numerous collections of Ukrainian museums and private collections in Europe, Asia and the USA.
The artist says that art is a type of worship for him. It allows him to portray the world and the life around us using abstract images and categories. To show the world beyond physical objects is the main goal of the artist’s work. Lives and works in Lviv. Member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine. In addition to painting and graphics, he works creatively in various genres of applied art
