Pop Art Ukraine exhibition

Pop Art Ukraine exhibition in Portal11.
04.09.2020-20.09.2020.
We want to share our Pop Art findings with you!
Pop art is one of the most eccentric art movements, which emerged in the 1950s-1960s as a reaction to the spreading of mass culture, consumerism and abstract expressionism. Pop art occupies one of the most successful positions on the world art market. Nevertheless, this art movement has not been properly recognized in Ukraine. Our exhibition was an attempt to find out whether pop art truly exists in Ukraine and if it does, what meaning does it have?
We want to introduce you to 13 talented artists who created their pieces using different art techniques and brought to life their own creative reflections based on the phenomenon of mass culture in Ukraine.
Participants of the exhibition: Iryna Vorona, Nikita Zigura, Mariko Gelman, Maksym Afanasyev, Evgen Zaborovsky, Evgen Prymachenko, Kostyantyn Militynskyy, Olga Turetska, Violetta Terlyha, Alis la Luna, Sergey Yakimenko, Darina Mykytiuk, Kateryna Shadrina.
