Gallery Portal 11 presents exhibition of enamels by Oleksii Koval “Live Earth”.18.12.2019 – 12.01.2020.
Oleksii Koval was born on October 16, 1977 in Kyiv. In 1996 he graduated from the republican T.G. Shevchenko art school (painting class). From 1996 to 2002 he studied at the National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture, Faculty of Painting (workshop of V.I. Zabashta). Since 2000 he has been working in monumental art. These are murals, mosaics, stained glass sketches. He has worked with Ukrainian and foreign architects. From 2006 to 2009 he studied hot enamel technology in I.M. Kirichenko’s workshop and studied the peculiarities of technique in private workshops around the world: China, India, Europe.
Since 2009, he has been creating productively and fruitfully, using different techniques and materials – silver, copper, bronze, precious stones. The artist’s personal exhibitions were held in galleries and museums of Ukraine, USA, Canada. His works are kept in private collections and museums in Ukraine, USA, Morocco and many others.
In the art project “Live Earth” Oleksii Koval emphasizes that we must learn to enjoy of communicating with the living. When traveling around the world, discovering new countries and continents, or simply walking in nature, we must realize that the life that surrounds us is beautiful and valuable. It is our duty to respect and protect this world, to love and to be in harmony with it. Because it is true happiness to live in this marvel of nature, to admire and to communicate with our Living Planet and learn from it.
